Flying to Quepos

After arriving in San Jose you can take a Sansa Airlines or Nature Air single-engine commuter flight to Quepos. Please check prices since they vary a lot with season and the time you book but expect to pay between $60 – $120 per person. Flight takes about 20min so you’ll get to Manuel Antonio super fast!

For bigger groups (10-18 pax) or out of convenience you might look into a Nature Air charter flight from San Jose to Quepos.

Driving from San Jose to Manuel Antonio

If you love long leisurely drives through scenic mountains, you’ve come to the right country! The roads are in great shape and the drive is about 2.5 hrs long with plenty of gas stations and restaurants along the way.  No 4×4’s are needed and there are plenty of car rentals to choose from and we recommend a GPS along with the rental. WAZE APP is amazing GPS for your mobile phone that works great in Costa Rica as well.  The drive from San José takes you through stunning scenery on route 27 then on to route 36 for views of amazing coastlines.

We can arrange for the rental car company to pick you up from the Airport in San Jose and the driver will meet and greet you at the airport exit.

Bus or a shuttle service to Quepos

From the Plaza Viquez bus station in downtown San Jose, buses leave to and from Quepos, several times a day. Tickets are about $8 per person one-way to the Quepos/Manuel Antonio. There is no boarding at San Jose Airport. You must take a taxi to Plaza Viquez. Once at Quepos, local cabs abound outside of the bus station for a quick 5min drive to Manuel Antonio Estates.

When exiting Juan Santamaria International airport in Costa Rica, you will see several red taxis outside the airport. These are all legal taxis and they work for the airport. You will be approached by many people who want to help you get where you want to go. The cost from San Jose to Quepos is around $120 to $150. You may be able to negotiate a lower price.
